Shopping Trolley. Royal College of Art.
The design involves BAS or Brake Assisted Steering which is a potentially patentable steering system that directly addresses the need for better maneuverability. The latest advances in self-scanning technology govern the development of the overall trolley shape offering reduced time at checkout. The use of self-scanning means that the items do not need to be unloaded for checking at the till. This makes it possible to load items directly in shopping bags and also allows separation of various items in categories such as fruits and vegetables, cleaning products, squashable items, frozen food etc. A child seat can be attached on top of the trolley. The trolley is safe and fun to use. There are even steps which unfold for riding it.
Steel tubes, electropated zinc coating, steering system, self scanning.
