The Polycarbonate light is a unique proposal for a versatile lighting element that offers the user a range of ways in which it can be experienced. Different modes of use are made possible thanks to the removable stand and by taking advantage of its size and its geometric and symmetrical shape. This gives the opportunity to be creative in arranging it within the living space, either as a reading light or for ambient lighting.The main body comes in 4 different colours and it is made of polycarbonate to withstand heat. The stand is made of plated steel.

The aim is for the Polycarbonate light to be suitable for easy mass production while incorporating an element of irony, playfulness and defiance.  The main body and the stand are constituted of straight lines and curves of constant radiuses, which give them a geometric, disciplined and purposeful form - a machine aesthetic. Instead of one bulb there are two which are placed one next to the other giving connotations of a pair of friendly eyes, like those of cartoon characters. Because one bulb would be enough the fact that two are being used shows defiance and irony inducing more being into the object.

The Polycarbonate light evokes the sweet face of mass production. It makes good use of mass production techniques and goes one step further by expressing through a combination of its elements a daringly human dimension to the object.
